The Shop

In 1985, Schnee Chassis started in a one stall garage building sprint car parts and repairing chassis. In 1987, the first Schnee Chassis was built for Bill Rook, a local driver.

The second car was built for Marlon Jones of Sioux Falls. Marlon won 2 track championships that year, which lead to more sales of cars to local drivers. In the winter of 1988-89, my brother-in-law, Doug Wolfgang helped me design a chassis which he ran from 1989-1992. Because of his success, Schnee Chassis grew very fast. Other drivers such as Kenny Jacobs, Gary Wright, Lance Dewease, Donnie Krietz, Mark Keegan, Danny Lasoski and many others have contributed to our success.

In 2001, we moved into a new shop at 27643 SD HIGHWAY 11 in Canton, SD. In 1995, we added CNC equipment to fabricate our own parts. 90% of the parts we sell are manufactured at our shop. One of the things that sets us apart from our competitors is our ability to custom build cars and parts for our customers. We are not a "production chassis shop", although we still build 60 - 70 cars a year. With a smaller size shop we can provide better service and support, as Brian has raced sprint cars for 12 years, himself. With a little taste of success in the 1 mile Nationals in Sadelia, MO (1991), the Jackson Nationals in Jackson, MN (1994), and the East Bay Nationals in Tampa, FL (1997) plus many other feature wins.
