Set Up Sheet

Squaring The Rear End

1. Place the rear end on a 6" block on the left and a 5 1/2" block on the right (use a 5" block on left with a raised rail)
2. Tighten the bearing carriers with spacers and wheel nuts
3. Center the rear end in the car by going off the flange of the tourque tube where it bolts to the rear end, to the edge of the frame
4. With the rear end centered in the car, get the right side of the axle at 38 5/8" from the front edge of the axle to the front edge of the motor plate (37 5/8" for a 39" car) the left side will measure up to 3/16" longer and that is fine
5. Now get the bearing carriers level ( make sure the chassis is level) by turning the radius rods with the rear arms unhooked from the bearing carriers
6. Hook up the rear arms to the bearing carriers, adjust the heim so the bolt goes in freely
7. Now hook the jacobs ladder up by adjusting the heim so the bolt goes in freely
8. Check the tourque tube ball and jacobs ladder that they are free
9. Now you can set the rear end on your race height set up blocks

Squaring The Front End

1. It is best to do this with the car on the ground and race ready
2. Measure from the back side of the front axle to the front side of the rear motor plate, this should be 45 1/2" on the right side and 45" on the left side on a 86-40 car. Add 1" for a 87-40 car and 2" for a 88-40 car
3. To get the axle centered in the car, measure from the center of the king pin to the edge of the frame, adjust the panhard bar until it measures 1" longer on the left side
